Job Description


Under the direction of the Senior Design Engineer, the Mechanical-Manufacturing Engineer will be responsible for working with other members of the engineering and production teams to develop drawings and specifications for existing and new design projects. The Mechanical-Manufacturing Engineer will design mechanical systems and/or machinery utilizing design and ERP software. 


Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Create and/or provide all supporting documentation including drawings, bill of materials, quotes and engineering summaries utilizing CAD Systems and ERP software
  • Prepare and complete accurate product documentation (i.e. manuals, work instructions, assembly instructions, data sheets, etc).
  • Manage Bill of Material (BOM) and parts list repository
  • Create electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic schematics utilizing design tools
  • Conducts assigned projects ensuring that work is completed within budgetary and time constraints while meeting customer and contractual demands. 
  • Assess customer requirements, evaluate engineering design, and create complete drawing packages
  • Model components to define recommended parts procurement
  • Ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical personnel

Education and/or Experience

Engineering Bachelor's degree form a four year college and 0+ years of related industrial experience and/or training.  Other combinations of education and experience may be considered as equivalent at the discretion of Human Resources and the hiring Manager.


Certifications, Business Licenses, Registrations

None required.

Certifications in SolidWorks (i.e. CSWA, CSWP, CSWE, CPPA, etc) is preferred.

Engineering in Training (EIT) or Professional Engineering (PE) is preferred.


Language Skills

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents.  Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.  Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format.  Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.  


Mathematical Skills

Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts such as exponents, logarithms, quadratic equations, and permutations.  Ability to apply mathematical operations to such tasks as frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis of variance, correlation techniques, sampling theory, and factor analysis.


Reasoning Ability

Ability to apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems.  Ability to deal with nonverbal symbolism (formulas, scientific equations, graphs, musical notes, etc.,) in its most difficult phases.  Ability to deal with a variety of abstract and concrete variables.


Computer Skills

To perform this job successfully individuals must be proficient on a personal computer and have knowledge of ERP Systems, Database Software, Design Software, Development Software, Manufacturing Software, Project Management Software, Spreadsheet Software and Word Processing Software.

Proficient: CAD Systems, SolidWorks, and Inventor.

Preferred: Product Data Management, Project Lifecycle Management or associated platforms.
