Job Description

Responsible for a variety of warehousing and distribution center activities ranging from receiving to shipping. Responsibilities may include inventory control, expediting, order preparation, hazardous shipment packing and documentation order processing. Must possess a strong bias toward customer service. Successful teammates will have effective communication and interpersonal skills along with both the attitude and aptitude to successfully perform the following duties and responsibilities. Is able to balance accuracy and job function with an appropriate sense of urgency.

Provides on-site inventory management at local area, customer specified location(s). Must work well independently and manage own time effectively. This individual will be responsible for managing customer’s inventory through utilization of the ePlus Inventory Solutions program.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned

• Receives direction and support from the ePlus Inventory Solutions Department that provides technical support and overall program direction. Although somewhat independent, this is a team role. This role is also teamed with the Inside Sales person and ESR responsible for the related customer account(s).

• Provides local, on-site inventory management for customers employing the ePlus Inventory Solutions program. The primary resources used in managing inventory include browser enabled inventory software, barcode scanners, and a laptop and/or tablet.

• Depending on the customer account, inventory may be held in a designated stock room, an integrated vending machine or locker, or other solution. The ability to accurately manage inventory transactions between locations is critical.

• Manages inventory from receipt through the lifecycle of each item. May need to coordinate with predetermined local product disposal companies.

• Proactively seeks out and interacts with designated, key customer contacts including, but not limited to purchasing and end-users. Is able to handle and resolve customer concerns and understands when to appropriately escalate issues internally.

• Must be able to effectively train a backup to provide seamless inventory activity during times of absence or as required by immediate supervisor.

• Continually strives to be the onsite inventory expert.

• Demonstrates a high level of accuracy while performing inventory transactions and applies feedback to improve performance. Monitors own work and uses available system reporting to ensure quality.

• Challenges existing processes and identifies opportunities for continuous improvement to improve efficiency and remove waste. Focuses on customer value.

• Effectively communicates inventory trends and sales opportunities to Account Specialist and ESR groups respectively.

• Follows customer specific safety programs and supports Ellsworth Adhesives safety programs and goals.

• Accurately receives product from a variety of vendors. As part of the receiving function, unloads carriers and separates material for receipt. Performs put away process and is able to effectively balance between receiving and put away in a self-directed Team environment.

• Packages sales orders for shipping to Customers. Accurately assesses order requirements and consistently fulfills them including, but not limited to creating Customer labels and applying necessary package markings.

• Provides a positive “Ellsworth” experience to both internal and external customers in every part of the Distribution Center process.

Job Requirements

Education and/or Experience

One year technical degree in a related field of study and 3+ years of related industrial experience and/or training.  Other combinations of education and experience may be considered as equivalent at the discretion of Human Resources and the hiring Manager.

Language Skills

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.  Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.  Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.


Mathematical Skills

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.  Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.


Reasoning Ability

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.  Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.


Computer Skills

To perform this job successfully individuals must be proficient on a personal computer and have knowledge of ERP systems, Contract Management Systems, Distribution System, Database Software, Internet Software, Inventory Software, Spreadsheet Software and Word Processing Software.

Experience in Prophet 21 (P21) is preferred.
